![]() The United Nations’ first Millennium Development Goal (MDGs) to “eradicate extreme poverty and hunger” was measured by assessing a set of indicators, which included the prevalence of underweight children under the age of 5 years. ![]() Intervention to reduce undesirable treatment outcomes should focus on comorbidities, especially HIV and sepsis. The main predictors of undesirable treatment outcomes among inpatient children treated for SAM were HIV and sepsis. The study revealed that the overall treatment outcomes were below the SPHERE standard recommendation. The main predictors of undesirable treatment outcomes were found to be the presence of HIV antibody (AHR = 3.208 95% CI: ) and sepsis (AHR = 7.677, 95% CI: ). The recovery, death and defaulter rate were 70.4, 12.2 and 8.2% respectively. ![]() Marasmus was the most common type (132 (51%)) of severe acute malnutrition. Resultįrom a total of 304 children 6–59 months with SAM, 133 (51.4%) were boys. The Kaplan-Meier estimator was employed to analyze the recovery rate of the children treated for SAM and multivariable Cox regression was used to determine factors that predict inpatient undesirable treatment outcomes. The analysis was carried out using SPSS version 20. We extracted data from hospital records on nutritional status, socio-demographic factors and medical conditions during admission. We studied a retrospective cohort of 304 children aged 6–59 months with complicated SAM admitted to Yekatit 12 Hospital Medical College from 2013 to 2016. Hence, this study intended to provide a quantitative estimate of factors associated with undesirable treatment outcomes of severe acute malnutrition (SAM). These early child deaths were due to conditions that could either be prevented or treated with basic interventions. Risk can also be defined as uncertainty of outcome, and can be used in the context of measuring the probability of positive outcomes as well as negative outcomes. In 2018, malnutrition contributed to 45% of all global cause of child death. A risk is measured by the probability of a threat, the vulnerability of the asset to that threat, and the impact it would have if it occurred. A possible event that could cause harm or loss, or affect the ability to achieve objectives. A risk is measured by a combination of the probability of a perceived threat or opportunity occurring, and the magnitude of its impact on objectives. An uncertain event or set of events that, should it occur, will have an effect on the achievement of objectives. Risk Analysis and Management of Projects (RAMP) The likelihood of variation in the occurrence of an event, which may have either positive or negative consequences. An ongoing or upcoming concern that has a significant probability of adversely affecting the success of major milestones. Combination of the probability or frequency of occurrence of a defined threat or opportunity and the magnitude of the consequences of the occurrence. Loss: An event has unwanted consequences or losses.Uncertainty: An event may or may not happen. What all definitions have in common is agreement that risk has two characteristics: An uncertain event or set of events which, should it occur, will have an effect on the achievement of objectives a risk is measured by a combination of the probability of a perceived threat or opportunity occurring and the magnitude of its impact on objectives. " A probability or threat of damage, injury, loss, or any other negative occurrence that is caused by external or internal vulnerabilities, and that may be avoided through preemptive action." : The possibility that something unpleasant or unwelcome will happen: : 'all outdoor activities carry an element of risk' 'flouting the law was too much of a risk' " a situation involving exposure to danger: " combination of the risk of exposure and the impact = combination of (likelihood of the the threat being able to expose an element(s) of the system) and impact"īSi - Information Security Risk Management ISO/IEC 27001 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Checklist.Highlighting tasks in Microsoft Project.
